In the Information Age, the name of the game is increasing efficiency. While this often clashes with traditional ways of doing business and requires a period of transition between one system and another, the ultimate result is that resources tend to be used much more efficiently than ever before.
A case in point is the increasing use of fleet vehicle tracking devices. These devices allow a shipping company to trace exactly where their loads are at and when delivery can reasonably be anticipated. In addition, they can tell if unauthorized use of their vehicles is being made or if they are being operated in an unsafe manner.
The bottom line is that fleet vehicle tracking likes these systems except for those drivers who are less enchanted at the idea of being constantly monitored even if it does result in them being kept safer than would ordinarily happen.
