It is an increasing trend all over the world. Men and women alike, regardless of race, religion, or social background, are choosing to switch to certified organic skincare products.

Not so long ago, organic food was something from hippie protests in the 1960s. Organic food is now a lifestyle choice that is widely accepted. The trend towards organic skincare is following the same path – after all, what we place on our body is just as important as the food we put into it.

And it is easy and simple to understand why. Today there is a huge amount of patches for quitting smoking, weight loss, and so on. All of them work by absorption through our skin. Given that our personal care is also absorbed in the same way, so do all these chemicals that are present in regular personal care creams and other items.

Organic skin care products work just as effectively, only without the extra chemicals and their possible side effects and health problems. And just like with organic food, organic skincare products only use all-natural ingredients and are free of harmful chemicals.

The ingredients used in organic skin care are certified to the same standards of the organic food industry. One thing to be wary of is that each country has its own way to define and regulate what organic means. In other words, it is still up to you to perform your due diligence and ensure that you are buying something good for you. When a product claims being organic, it needs to be 100% organic. Did you know that some countries allow up to 5% of non-organic materials in a product labeled organic? While that doesn’t make much sense, just as you cannot be 95% late and 5% punctual, it is what it is, and we have to find a way to live in peace with it.

Regarding regular cosmetics, the main harm is contained in their dyes and chemicals. They are dangerous to your health – some of them might even be carcinogenic. Organic skincare products achieve the same goals, without the dangerous chemical components.

Nowadays, it is easy to find a wide variety of organic beauty products for exfoliating, cleansing, conditioning, skin nourishment, skin hydration, moisturisation, and purification.

In order to become certified organic skincare, the products including organic skincare have to be made from materials grown on a soil that has previously been certified as free of pesticides for a minimum of three consecutive years. Organic skincare products are also made without synthetic hormones, insecticides, pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, and free of chemical fertilizers.
