Spy Cam Equipment is electronic devices used to photograph or record still and moving images, which may be stored locally, transmitted to another location, or both. They have become very popular around the world as they can be installed in almost any imaginable place for various purposes.

Many hidden camera types exist, from relatively easy DIY spy pen DVR units to professional setups with wireless night vision cameras and real-time remote viewing through the internet. Some use wireless connections directly, while others need a wired power supply so that the video signal does not get interrupted. Of course, many of these units also come with an audio recording option which is especially useful for surveillance situations where there is no necessity to see what happened but only hear it. Here is how a typical Spy Cam Equipment can look like:

The first example is a Spy Video Pen DVR, one of the smallest and cheapest units. It records 640×480 video quality and has 1 GB of internal memory to store up to 45 minutes of recordings. Of course, it comes with an external memory slot as well so that you could easily increase its recording capacity if needed by just adding a MicroSD card. The built-in lithium-ion battery offers 2 hours of uninterrupted recording time before you will need to recharge it, and this takes about 3 hours using a USB connection or 4 hours using included AC charger. The pen itself looks totally normal, and writing with the “pen” gives no indication that anything unordinary might be going on inside it. You can view a video recorded with this spy cam pen here:

The next example is a Mini Wireless Spy Camera which looks like a common USB wall charger but has a built-in camera and wireless receiver. It records 640×480 resolution video at 30 frames per second and comes with 32 MB of internal memory that holds up to 60 minutes of “room surveillance” or 15 minutes of HD recording before you will need to move the files from its memory onto your computer using included USB cable. The included receiver can handle signals being sent from up to 16 feet away from the sending unit making this one a great hidden camera for almost any situation you might have in mind. As usual, is also an external microSD memory card slot included, which makes storage expandability a breeze.

Some of the most popular hidden camera types available today are spy pen cameras and clock radios with built-in video recorders, which allow you to install them almost anywhere without drawing any attention at all quickly. They look exactly like normal pens or alarm clocks, respectively, but they can perform lots of other great functions as well, such as recording time-lapse images/videos or motion detection triggered video recordings.
